北京外国语大学信息技术中心是学校教育数字化建设、管理与服务的主要部门。中心现有教职工39人，其中事业编11人，校聘A岗4人。中心下设综合办公室、教学技术保障中心、信息系统部、媒体制作部、教学资源部、教学培训部等六个科室。
中心目前主要业务有：校园网络建设与安全运维，校园一卡通建设与运维，智能教学环境建设与管理，校内私有云服务，信息系统与数据中心建设，数字教学资源制作与开发，网络教学平台建设与运维，教育技术培训与推广等工作。
2018年以来，学校作为教育部“人工智能助推教师队伍建设行动”首批唯一试点高校，中心积极参与试点工作规划和落实，建设了智能教室样板间、教师发展智能实验室、教师智能素养提升平台、教师大数据平台等一系列示范性应用成果。
未来，信息技术中心将遵循党的教育方针，团结和依靠全体教职工，秉承“开放、互联、智能、融合、创新”的服务理念，踔厉奋发，为学校“双一流”建设提供坚实的信息化支撑！
The Information Technology Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is the principal department responsible for the education-related digitalization development, management, and service provision of the university.
The Center has 39 faculty and staff members, among whom eleven are in career civil service positions and four in university-appointed Grade A posts. The Center commands six functional entities: General Administration Office, Instructional Technology Support Center, Information Systems Department, Media Production Department, Educational Resources Department, and Instructional Training Department.
The Center has the following major operations: campus network construction and security operations and maintenance; all-in-one campus card system development, operation, and maintenance; smart teaching-and-learning environment development and management; on-campus private cloud services; information systems and data center construction; digital educational resources production and development; online teaching platform deployment, operation, and maintenance; instructional technology training and dissemination.
Since 2018 when BFSU became the first pilot institution of higher learning for the Ministry of Education’s Artificial Intelligence-Empowered Teacher Advancement Program, the Center has been actively participating in the planning and implementation of pilot initiatives. It has delivered a series of demonstration outcomes for application, such as smart model classroom, smart lab for teacher development, digital literacy enhancement platform for teachers, and big data analytics platform for teachers.
Moving forward, the Center will continue to follow the Party’s education guideline by uniting and relying on all faculty and staff, carrying forward the service philosophy of “Openness, Interconnectivity, Intelligence, Integration, and Innovation”, and striving with great efforts to provide firm support in ITC development in aid of BFSU’s implementation of the Double First-Class Initiative.
